Wondering Gifteg Minds
A European initiative to nurture talent and the development of the human potential of cognitively gifted young people.
Wondering Gifted Minds is a project promoted by the Carano4Children Foundation, an international non-profit foundation based in Brussels, developed as part of the Leonardo4Children program.
The initiative aims to create a European community of gifted and highly cognitively gifted children and young people, offering them the opportunity to meet, engage, and collaborate with peers from different European countries, sharing ideas, experiences, and visions for the future of society.
The first event will be held on October 9, 2026, in Brussels and will include a completely free international workshop dedicated to gifted young people, followed by the Leonardo4Children Awards Concert and Ceremony.
The ceremony will take place as part of an international event sponsored by leading European and international institutions, including UNESCO, the European Parliament, the European Committee of the Regions, the Italian Embassy in Belgium, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels.
Who is it for?
Wondering Gifted Minds is aimed at children and young people between the ages of 8 and 18 from across Europe who have already been assessed as having high cognitive potential (IQ above 120) or giftedness (IQ above 130).
Participants will be divided into three age groups (8–10, 11–14, and 15–18) and will follow activities designed by a team of psychologists, pedagogists, and educators, tailored to their developmental level.
The Project's Purpose
Wondering Gifted Minds stems from the belief that talent represents a precious resource not only for the individual, but for society as a whole.
Through the Blueland 2100 workshop, participants will be invited to reflect together on topics such as well-being, inclusion, relationships, active participation, and building a more sustainable future, imagining new ideas and possible solutions.
More than finding answers, Wondering Gifted Minds aims to offer gifted young people a European space where they can listen, exchange ideas, and build new perspectives together.
A growing community
The experience doesn't begin and end in Brussels.
Through Ambassadors, the Wall of Wondering Gifted Minds, Reels, and the contribution of associations, schools, universities, professionals, and public and private entities, the project will continue to develop as a permanent European network dedicated to gifted young people.
The goal is to transform Wondering Gifted Minds into a European reference point for talent development and, over time, into an international cooperation project within the Erasmus+ programs.
